Virtus Development Co. was founded by Tom Rubel, a Marine Corps veteran and development professional with a unique blend of military and sports leadership and luxury real estate expertise. As a former Marine sniper who served two combat tours, Tom learned that success in complex, high-pressure situations demands precision, adaptability, and unwavering commitment to mission success.
After his military service, Tom played Division I lacrosse at Harvard, where he furthered his deep understanding of what it takes to build and sustain high-performing teams. That foundation, combined with his development knowledge to drive success in his work with world-class hospitality brands including The Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, and Aman, where he led complex development projects from concept through delivery.
Most recently, Tom led Costa Palmas, a luxury members community, bringing together his expertise in team leadership, operational excellence, and high-end development in international settings.
